starting over

Change is good. It's a concept I've been making more of an effort to try to adapt to than I have in the past. With all the changes my life has been taking since graduating and the past year, it felt appropriate for my blog to take a change with me.

Although personal style is and will always be a huge part of who I am, there's way more to me as a person, but more importantly new hobbies I want to explore. I want my blog to reflect me in a nutshell, not just one tiny aspect of my life.

Fall halloweenie vibes in full swing. Despite everything not quite falling into place just yet, watching the developing foliage is always a great pick me up. Here's to apple picking (finally this weekend!), an abundance of the color orange, and pumpkin everything.

So I've been missing in action for a long while, but not without good reason. I graduated from University with a B.A and minor, went abroad for the first time with my best friends to Spain, learned to cook, moved on from some black clouds in my life, and am currently focusing on making my career dreams a reality. That last part has been harder than I anticipated but I'm not giving up until I find the perfect fit.

Not much has changed however in my endless affinity for lace with the perfect denim cut offs. Simple black heels are also still having their moment in my normal rotation, and these are suprisingly comfortable enough to take a tight rope challenge in. The idea's not something i'd normally be up to barefoot, but these wedges really give off a certain cloud trotting illusion. Think space boot simulators disguised in a vampy exterior. Always welcome to metaphorically walking on air.

I officially consider this back to new regularly scheduled programming. Here's to everything slowly but surely falling into place.

Couldn't get over this periwinkle, white, baby blue color pallette this month. This bag simultaneously sparks my excitement for Hawaii and endless outfit possibilities. Truly a 2 for one kinda thing.

I'm currently living vicariously through my bag that came all the way from Hawaii until I get the chance to explore the islands for myself. I was never incredibly into photo prints on clothing/accessories until I came across this gem on knight cat. I think it's simplicity is what pulled me in since it's not over the top and from far away just looks like a mushy mix of watercolor blues that i'm really feeling right now. My nail color that I totally didn't mean to match my shorts is the best representation of what my second favorite color in the world is. Too much periwinkle is never enough and this mix of said color, beachy vibes and snake print is the right amount of pattern mixing to vomit in a good way. Hiss.

fast to get away

Being busy constantly has led to mixing my usually girlish side with a pinch of sportiness I have not gravitated towards previously. I threw this hat into my bag at the last sample sale I attended partially as a joke since I'm not a huge fan of how I look in hats, but this bad hair day had me surprise reaching for it. Somehow, I liked what it did for this simple outfit I had on last week.
Also, the hunt for the perfect mint green shorts ended here when these Madewell shorts and I made eye contact. The hat and shorts have been circulating the past week in my current favorites pile on the beautiful mess that is the floor corner of my room.
